Local Group Aids Veterans The nation’s walking wounded have friends in Middle Tennessee.
Among those are a group of men who meet regularly in the basement of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. They call themselves the Wood Den Carvers of Columbia, and their latest project is creating Eagle Head Canes for servicemen and women who have lost legs while fighting for our country. They consider the time, money and effort spent on the project a privilege.
“These people have given up a lot more than us,” Jake Caskey said. “We contribute a little time and wood.”
