Nicol wins Malaysian Open 2007

30-July-2007 Nicol David, you make Malaysia proud!!
Nicol David has won the CIMB Malaysian Open 2007, defeating Tania Bailey of England 9-4, 9-3, 9-2 in the final.
Bailey, coming from a tough upset against Natalie Grinham never found her rhythm and was systematically suppressed by Nicol.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Nicol had given the Malaysian crowd a scare when she surrendered the 1st game to Rachael Grinham 0-9. But she soon bounced back to earn a hard-fought triumph 0-9, 9-2, 9-5, 4-9, 9-4. The semi-final match had taken 72 minutes.
Nicol David is expected to participate in the British Open in September and the World Open. She also indicated interest to participate in the Singapore Masters, in August.
