Round Rock Skate Park Opens

On July 20, 2007, the City of Round Rock opened the new 14,000 sq. ft. skate park to the public. Approximately 500 people showed up to try out the new concrete skate park located behind the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. After a short speech from Mayor Pro-Tem McGraw and a special "ribbon cutting" by a local skater, the park was officially opened to the skating community. Destruction of the park, fences, and other park amenities is unlawful and will not be tolerated and result in closure of the skate park. Please dispose of your trash in the trash receptacles provided; if litter continues to be left on the ground around the skate park, the Parks & Recreation Dept. will close the park to the public. Electricity to the lights is ONLY available from 6 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. The system is completely disconnected at all other times.
