The program is currently being tested in Magic Kingdom by randomly chosen guests. After the guests are selected, they are given a DS, shown how to use the system's features and then are off to the park to test it out.
The DS has a device that attaches to the accessory port, which is thought to have the same type of chip in it as that the Pal Mickey doll has. Pal Mickey allows you to receive information about the parks while carrying him around.
The Disney's Magic Connection has an interactive map that shows you where you are in the park and various routes to attractions, characters, restaurants, and other facilities. It includes wait times as well as giving specific information about attractions such as Fast Pass Distribution times, operating status and height restrictions. The program also includes some games to pass the time as you wait on line. The games are unlocked by visiting certain attractions, and are for Fantasyland, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
