Virgin flights from Sydney to US by December
Apr 02, 2008 02:34:39

SYDNEY - is to be home to Virgin Airlines' new V Australia operation, which aims to have daily flights between the US and Australia by December.

The flights between the US and Sydney are expected to bring more than 50,000 visitors to NSW this year, while creating 100 new jobs in Sydney, NSW Premier Morris Iemma and Virgin Airlines said today.

Virgin Group chairman Richard Branson said he was happy to establish a close link with Sydney.

"With Virgin Blue flying within Australia and to New Zealand and the South Pacific and Virgin Atlantic between Australia, Hong Kong and London, V Australia flights to the United States are the obvious last piece of the puzzle," he told reporters today.
