More than 3 million Mus- lims thronged the holy Kaaba in Mecca on Friday night (Sept 26) for the blessing of the "Night of Power" making it a living miracle on earth in modern human history. Thousands of cars, vans and buses beelined on highways from Jeddah and other cities to Makkah. All roads were clogged immediately after Maghrib prayers. Police blocked all the entrance roads around the vicinity of Holy Mosque as the people scattered far and wide around the Haram area. Policemen stood near all entrances with placards reading that the Mosque area was full.
According to local newspapers, thousands of Arabs traveled from neighboring Gulf countries by road to make a presence in Holy Kabaa for the Night of Power. An aerial view of Holy Mosque at Makkah reminded the Hajj days. Visiting Makkah in Ramadan is a memorable experience. One wonders how this city works. What makes the city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia a living miracle in modern human history? Here are few facts: More than 7600 persons are employed by Makkah Municipality for cleaning the Holy Mosque and surrounding area round the clock making it the only place in the world where the largest labor force is employed at a single location. Over 2 million people are praying daily for 30 days of Ramadan five times a day, again making it the only place in the world where largest human assembly takes place for supplicating the One God.
