A preliminary autopsy has revealed that a man found dead inside a garbage truck in South Austin suffered injuries while inside the truck.

A body was found in the trash compartment of a garbage truck, owned by a private company.

The truck's driver found the body of Phillip Krause, 53, inside truck's trash compartment Monday morning near Slaughter Lane and Westgate Blvd.

The autopsy shows he died from multiple blunt force and crushing traumas.

Police say the man had likely been in a dumpster.

At this time, police say this case appears to be an accident. A final autopsy is underway.
