Google Vs. The World

As most people already know; Google is the most
popular search engine, and also offers a wide
array of free software. They also own YouTube a
large video posting web site.
Viacom has recently filed a lawsuit against
YouTube for $1 billion for copyright
infringements. As one of Google's most valuable
assets; what happens if they lose? Furthermore,
where does this leave the company afterwards?
In a recent article in Fast Company magazine Jimmy
Wales, the founder of wikipedia.org, announced his
plans to challenge Google in the search market
with a new Wikia search engine. Do they pose any
threat?
In the next couple of years web based companies
will be battling for control, The true question is
who will be "the brand" of the web in the end?
