PLAINFIELD, Ill., April 4, 2007 – Two and half years after its original opening, Plainfield Wal-Mart shoppers will immediately notice that their local store has been transformed into a complete, one-stop shopping destination reflecting the needs of their growing community. The newly expanded and remodeled Plainfield Wal-Mart Supercenter will hold its grand opening celebration at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 4. Community leaders will share what the store brings to the area, including 180 new associate jobs and $21,000 in Wal-Mart donations to local organizations. Located at 12690 S. Route 59, the Supercenter features the latest in Wal-Mart store designs with a customer-oriented layout and expanded merchandise mix, including a grocery department that provides added convenience for shoppers.
