Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett I. Johansson was born on 22 November 1984 in New York Ciy to her manager Melanie Johansson and NY architect father Karsten Johansson.  Her mother is of polish descent and her father is of danish descent hence her last name Johansson. Scarlett has an older sister who also is an actress, Vanessa Johansson, older brother Adrian, and did you know she has a younger twin brother who was born 3 minutes after her? His name is  Hunter Johansson. Her family doesn't end there, She also has a half-brother named Christian.

Scarlett attended the Professional Children's School in Manhattan, NY in 2002, the next year she applied for New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, but was not accepted.  She is also an alumni of well known, the Lee Strasberg Institute.

Scarlett started er acting career, starring in "North" (1994), as "Laura Nelson" and continued on in "The Horse Whisperer" (1998) which brought her international recognition, after that she starred in many successfull films such as "Ghost World" (2001), the wonderful "Lost in Translation" (2003) with Bill Murray, "Girl With a Pearl Earring" (2003), Woody Allen's "Match Point" (2005), all three last mentioned films She was nominated for a Golden Globe, each. 

It seems that Scarlett chooses her film roles thoughtfully. she was considered for the role of Susan Storm in "Fantastic Four" in 2005, but instead we saw Jessica Alba in that role.

The same year she was offered the role of Evey in "V for Vendetta". In 2006 She was offered the role of Lois Lane in "Superman Returns", also the same year the role of Lindsey Farris in "Mission: Impossible 3" but due to scheduling conflicts she dropped out.
