Miley Cyrus, who turned 16 last month, didn't get the car she was hoping for!
"I took my mom's old car," the singer, 16, told Extra on Thursday. "I didn't get the one I wanted, but I got the old car, which wasn't so bad because it was Porsche.... it was a pretty good hand me down."
Cyrus also opened up about receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her song, "I Thought I Lost You."
I got a text from four different people," Cyrus said. "I was like 'Holy Moly!' It's good because people will take me a little more seriously.

Asked who she'll be bringing to the awards show, Cyrus responded, "I'm so cool, I get two dates!"
"I'm going to have one, which is going to be John Travolta. That's a big date," she said. "Two is Jeffrey Steele, because we wrote [the nominated song] together."
Meanwhile, Cyrus is linked to 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston.
"I think that we are really good friends, and we love hanging out and spending time together," Cyrus told Us in November.

Miley Cyrus Says She'd 'Love' To Work With Vanity Fair Photographer Again
'I realize I'm just a kid,' singer/actress says of reaction to Annie Leibovitz photo spread.
Despite all the controversy their collaboration courted earlier this year, Miley Cyrus said that she'd love the opportunity to work with Annie Leibovitz again.
"Everyone outside of America liked it a little bit more, because that's more like the style, but the States are really conservative," she said in an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Record. "I just had to deal with that and just realize that I got to work with an amazing photographer."
In the photo, which appeared in the April issue of Vanity Fair, Cyrus appeared draped in just a blanket and had many people outraged that a 15-year-old would be portrayed in such a provocative fashion. "She was amazing and so talented and her lighting ... I would love to work with her again. But I realize I'm just a kid," she said. "My parents are really chilled with me until I give them a reason not to be, so hopefully I'll never give them a reason."
She added that working with Leibovitz inspired Cyrus to pursue photography one day. "That's what I want to do with my life. I would love to be a photographer," she said. "I do want to come to London to study photography. I hear there are some really great art schools here, so I would love to do that."
Until then, Cyrus is busy acting on "Hannah Montana," as well as keeping everyone guessing about her rumored relationship with 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston. "I'm surrounded by good-looking guys, the models, the actors, this and that, so it ends up not being about that," she said. "It ends up being about the personality and the way someone treats you."
Even with all her success, Cyrus manages to stay grounded, thanks to her family. And at 16, she has no intentions of moving out on her own yet. "Maybe when I am 20 [I'll move out]," she said. "When my mom stops cooking for me. As soon as my mom stops making me food, then I'm out."

Disney Organizers estimated that there were over 5,000 people who attended Miley’s purple carpet $250 USD a ticket sweet 16 birthday party on Sunday. Not only was the Anaheim, California Disneyland closed down for Miley’s birthday celebration, she also performed 4 songs, along with a few from her dad, a firework spectacular was held just for her, and 16 giant inflatable candles were displayed to honor her.
As for the attendee’s selected rides were left open, some including Pirates of the Caribbean and Thunder Mountain. Miley’s seems to have a gravitational pull on Hollywood as well, other celebs couldn’t help come out for her birthday so attendees were treated to a celeb buffet roaming around the theme park.
It is no surprise that Miley had a great night at her bash when she was asked what else does she want for her birthday and responded “My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I’m good for a while,”. Miley had such a great times earlier that week too because step mother, Leticia Cyrus, was quoted saying “She had a credit card, and she went a little over her limit the other day, so i said, ‘No credit card for six months.’”

Michael Poryes, who is credited as co-creator, also co-created the hit Disney Channel Original Series That's So Raven. The show is produced by It's a Laugh Productions, Inc., in association with Disney. It is filmed at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, California. The series premiere scored record ratings for Disney Channel: 5.4 million viewers, a response "beyond our wildest expectations," according to the president of Disney Channel Entertainment.[4] The original idea for this show was based on the That's So Raven episode "Goin' Hollywood", which was supposed to be the pilot episode for a sitcom called Better Days, in which a child star of a popular TV show of the same name was to try her hand at going to a normal school. The episode "New Kid in School" has the basic premise as that aforementioned episode. Other names considered for the title were The Secret Life of Zoe Stewart (discarded as too similar to Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon), The Popstar Life!, and Alexis Texas. Former American Juniors finalist Jordan McCoy and pop and R&B singer JoJo (who rejected the role)[5] were considered for the role of Zoe Stewart. Miley Cyrus originally auditioned for the role of the "best friend"[6] Lilly Romero, later changed to Lilly Truscott, but they thought she would be better for the main character, so she tried out for Zoe Stewart/Hannah Montana. Zoe Stewart was later changed to Chloe Stewart, which was eventually changed to Miley when she got the part. The names of Hannah Montana were changed a few times. Three of the previous names were Anna Cabana, Samantha York, and Alexis Texas. In December 2006, Disney announced plans to release Hannah Montana products, including: clothing, jewellery, apparel, and dolls, at select stores. [7] Play Along Toys released the Hannah Montana fashion dolls, singing dolls and Miley Stewart doll, and other merchandise in August 2007. More Hannah dolls were released in November, along with Oliver, Lilly, and later Jake Ryan dolls. They became one of the most popular Christmas toys in 2007.[8] Hannah Montana is signed for at least one more season according to Disney Channel. Filming for the second season started in December. The new season started in April, 2007, in which she is in high school.[9]As stated by Jason Earles at the launch of the High School Musical 2 Extended Edition DVD, filming of the second season has finished. By February 2008, the Hannah Montana franchise had become so important that Disney convened an "80-person, all-platform international meeting to discuss Hannah Montana's future."[10] All Disney business segments were represented at the meeting.
Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, her sunny personality soon changed her name to Miley at home. Her father, country star and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, nicknamed her "Miley" because she is "always full of smiles". Now every Disney Channel lover knows her as Miley Cyrus, the star of Disney's newest original show: Hannah Montana, where Miley plays a regular girl called Miley Stewart who has a secret double life as the biggest singing superstar of tv.
It took a lot to this 13-year-old to earn the role of Disney's new tv queen. "All this hard work I've done my entire life is about to pay off," she says. She isn't recalling only the audition callback which started with 1000 girls, but the dedication she's put into singing and acting for years. Daughter of a counrty star who crossed over tv, Miley has been taking parts as extras in her Dad's shows since forever, and most recently was cast for an episodes in his drama series "Doc", aswell as tge role of Ruthie in "Big Fish" at age eight.
Singing and playing the guitar have been a huge part of her life too. She assures she has written over 100 songs already. In fact, one of them will be featured in Hannah Montana. She is now recording one new song per episode so that will make over 20 songs by the end of the season, however, no soundtrack has been confirmed yet. When asked about the soundtrack, Miley stated by now the goal is making the best show possible plus there will be a Hannah Montana soundtrack over the summer, "or a Miley Cyrus album" she added. Soundtrack or not, Miley Cyrus will certainly be releasing an album sooner or later. She is signed with Hollywood Records for a four-album record deal.
Gary Marsh, Disney Channel entertainment president said they chose Miley for the role of Hannah Montana because they saw a girl who has this natural ebullience and loves every minute of her life, which shows in her demeanor and performance.
When she's not performing, Miley enjoys the company of her five siblings, Christopher, Braison Chance, Brandi, Trace and Noah Lindsey, and her dog Loco who lives with them in Los Angeles. The rest of her dogs, cats, horses, chickens and cows had to stay at their Nashville, Tennessee home when they moved to LA last December 2005 to start the filming. Miley had to say goodbye to her whole-life friends, so her new lifestyle also includes long hours on the phone plus the LA need: shopping. "I'm a big shoe person. Sometimes I'll be punky, the next day I'll be preppy. Every day after work, my mom and I go shopping. My dad is about to kill me. I say, 'We need it, daddy!'"
Her hobbies include her job: dancing, cheerleading, singing, playing the guitar and writing music. She states, "As soon as I step on that stage, nothing matters. I don't think of it as work. It's just so much fun."
