Dallas Cowboys Biography |
|
|
Known as "America's Team", the Dallas Cowboys are certainly one of NFL's most popular teams. The Cowboys are tied with only the San Francisco 49rs and Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins at 5 a piece and are all alone with the most super bowl appearances with 8 showings at the big game with a record 221 super bowl points scored. They won super bowls VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII and XXX. One of only 7 teams to win back to back super bowls and and winning 3 out of 4 years in the 90's with only the 49rs beating them in the championship game keeping them from 4 in a row. Some of the all time greats in the NFL have called Dallas home with Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Troy Aikman, Michael Irving and the all time rushing leader Emmitt Smith topping the list. Probably one of the most notable people to ever walk the Cowboy sideline however, would be the legendary coach, Tom Landry. The Cowboys have one of the most recognizable stadiums in sports with the infamous "hole in the roof" design. There will only be a couple more seasons played in the stadium as the Cowboys are poised to move to their new home in nearby Arlington with the state of the art stadium already underway.
