Nicol Ann
David was born on
August 26, 1983 in
Penang, Malaysia. Her parents, Desmond
David is an
engineer, and her mother
Ann Marie David is a retired schoolteacher. Nicol is
one of Malaysia\'s true sporting supremos.
Ranked no. 1 since 2006,
she has been almost unstoppable and as of this writing (
June 2007), the highest
ranked player in
the world women\'s squash circuit. In 2005, WISPA honoured
Nicole by naming her WISPA Player of the Year.
Nicol began playing squash at the age of 5 years old. Noticing her potential, her parents enrolled her in formal training at the age of 8.

first international tournament 1994 in
Hong Kong in the Under 13
event.
After joining the WISPA Professional circuit in 2000,
she won her first WISPA tournament in the Finnish
Open that same year. Since then,
She's been growing from strength to strength to her
current world no. 1 ranking in 2006 and 2007.
