|
Born in March 7th, 1955, Prince Al-Waleed is a member of the Saudi Royal Family. He has completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Social Sciences from Syracuse University. It is widely reported the Prince Al-Waleed has started off his business career with a $30,000 loan from his father and a $300,000 mortgage on his house. He accumulated much wealth by securing exclusive contracts to allow businesses to operate in the Saudi Kingdom in the 80s. During the 90s, much of his wealth was created by investing heavily in what was known as Citcorp (the predecessor of Citigroup) when the company was going through financial hardships. He then went to own a sizeable share in many companies in the banking and technology sectors. His reported wealth is $ 20 billion as of 2006.
