Pop singer and dancer Nicole Scherzinger was born Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Scherzinger on June 29, 1978, in Honolulu, HI, but was raised mostly in Louisville, KY, moving there at age six with her mom after her parents separated. Scherzinger (who is of Hawaiian, Russian, and Filipino descent) went to a performing arts high school and, following graduation, enrolled at Wright State University in Dayton, OH. Majoring in theater arts and minoring in dance, she eventually put college on hold to pursue music, initially serving as a backing vocalist for the late-’90s rock group Days of the New.

 

 

 

 

 

In 2001, Scherzinger entered as a contestant on the first season of the WB television show Popstars, where she won the role of lead singer in the resulting all-girl pop group Eden’s Crush. The group’s first single, “Get Over Yourself,” did well on radio and broke into the Billboard Hot 100s Top Ten, but when their label folded soon after, Eden’s Crush shortly followed suit. Scherzinger pushed forward and contributed a track (“Breakfast in Bed”) to the soundtrack for the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore flick 50 First Dates under the name Nicole Kea.

 

 

 

 

Around the same time, the popular L.A. burlesque act the Pussycat Dolls were being recast into more of a commercial pop/R&B group, and Scherzinger joined on as their lead singer in 2003. In fact, Scherzinger wound up singing basically all of the vocals on the group’s 2005 debut, PCD, along with being the only Doll to have a few songwriting credits on the album. As the Pussycat Dolls’ record went on to sell millions of copies, Scherzinger collaborated on various songs outside of the group with artists like P. Diddy, Rihanna, Avant, Will Smith, and Belinda. As the Pussycat Dolls continued to support their debut on the road, Scherzinger readied the release of her first solo album, Her Name Is Nicole…, scheduled for release in late summer 2007. The album is slated to feature various guest spots, including ones from Akon, Timbaland, and will.i.am. Scherzinger also plans on returning to her first love of acting at some point; her résumé already includes bit parts on the television shows My Wife and Kids and Las Vegas, as well as in movies Love Don’t Cost a Thing and Chasing Papi.

Founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995, the Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque dance revue based in Los Angeles, spawned a second revue in Las Vegas, grew into an A-list phenomena with a revolving cast of guest celebrities, and eventually became a recording act with a number one dance hit. It wasn’t long after launching its revue that the troupe began attracting actresses and models who wanted to become a Pussycat Doll for a night. Capitalizing on the nationwide attention and the addition of former Eden’s Crush member Nicole Scherzinger as lead singer, the single “Don’t Cha” with special guest Busta Rhymes appeared at the beginning of 2005 and climbed to number two on the pop chart, number one on the dance chart. With help from the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am and producer Timbaland, the Pussycat Dolls recorded their full-length debut. The A&M label released PCD, a Top Ten hit, in the summer of 2005. In 2008 member Carmit Bachar left to pursue a solo career while the Interscope label announced that a solo album from Scherzinger was being put on hold after four teaser singles failed to climb the charts. Continuing on as a five-piece, the Dolls released both the single “When I Grow Up” and the album Doll Domination that same year.

 

 

Nicole Scherzinger Wants To Produce PCD Solo Albums

 

 

Nicole Scherzinger is planning to make each of the Pussycat Dolls into superstars – by producing her bandmates’ solo albums. Lead singer Scherzinger served as the executive producer on three tracks on the girl band’s 2008 album Doll Domination and admits she is now keen to take up producing duties on future projects.

 

 

And she insists her dream studio collaboration would be with her fellow bandmates.

 

 

 

 

 

She says, “I was able to executive produce with Ron Fair (on Doll Domination) and another producer was Timbaland. I love producing – and maybe I’ll get to produce some of the other girls’ stuff sometime.”

Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger showed off her toned body as she took a dip in the sea in Hawaii.

The 30-year-old, who is dating Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, turned heads in a multi-coloured bikini as she soaked up the sun on Waikiki Beach.

The singer has rarely left her boyfriend’s side in recent months, but their was no sign of the 24-year-old who is preparing for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone next week.

The race comes at the end of a difficult season for Lewis who has been playing second fiddle to fellow Brit Jensen Button in this year’s Formula 1 Championship, and hasn’t managed to win a single race.

While Lewis was missing from Nicole’s beach jaunt, onlookers would no doubt have been surprised to see her enjoying the company of bandmate Ashley after months of rumoured conflict within the group.

It is believed Nicole is planning to leave the Pussycat Dolls to focus on her solo career and finally release her long-delayed debut album My Name Is Nicole.

Their latest single Hush Hush; Hush Hush has been billed as from The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger, instead of the previous Pussycat Dolls, which has reportedly caused further tension.

Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that she is keen to start a family with beau Lewis Hamilton.

The Pussycat Dolls band member, who happens to be 7 years elder than world champion, Nicole stated that Hamilton is a courteous man.

“We would love to have beautiful angel babies together one day,” The Sun quoted Nicole, as saying.
