Keira Knightley The Duchess, The Duchess of Devonshire
A chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, who reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives. She is a vibrant beauty and celebrity of her time. But she is trapped in an unhappy triangle with her husband and his live-in mistress. She falls passionately in love with an ambitious young politician, and the affair causes a bitter conflict with her husband and threatens to erupt into a scandal.

Keira Knightley The Duchess, The Duchess of Devonshire
The Duchess is a film based on Amanda Foreman's biography of the scandalous, 18th-century English aristocrat Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. It was released in September 2008. Originally to be directed by Susanne Bier,[2] The Duchess was directed by Saul Dibb.
Set at the end of the eighteenth century, The Duchess is the story of the beautiful and, glamorous Georgiana Cavendish, the most fascinating woman of the age. While her beauty and charisma made her name, her extravagant tastes and appetite for gambling and love made her infamous. Married young to the older, distant Duke of Devonshire, intimate of ministers and princes, Georgiana became a fashion icon, a doting mother, a shrewd political operator and darling of the common people. But at the core of her story is a desperate search for love. From Georgiana’s passionate and doomed affair with Earl Grey to the complex mnage trois with her husband and her best friend, Lady Bess Foster, The Duchess is a very contemporary tale of fame, notoriety and the search for love. (Her love child with Lord Grey was Eliza Courtney).
The Duchess is financed by BBC Films and Path.[3] Make-up and hair design, both significant in a Georgian-set period piece, are by Daniel Phillips. The Duchess was filmed at Twickenham Film Studios and on-location at Chatsworth, Bath, Holkham Hall, Norfolk, Clandon Park, Kedleston Hall and The University of Greenwich: London.
Regarding lead actress Keira Knightley, director Saul Dibb said The Duchess was "a chance to take a character from late childhood - she's married at 17 - into full adulthood, 10 years later."[4] It was also a chance to work with Ralph Fiennes, who she regarded as one of her most accomplished costars to date; Dibb said, "When I said, 'We've got Ralph interested in playing the Duke,' we both took a gulp and went, 'F..k.' ... But I didn't for one second feel that she wasn't up to the task."

Brady suffers knee injury, Pats beat Chiefs 17-10
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (12) is helped off the field by medical personnel after being hit while throwing the ball during the first quarter of their football game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008. Brady left the game and was taken to the locker room.
Tom Brady Not on Injury Report
Patriots QB Tom Brady is all of a sudden not on the team’s injury report. Yesterday, he was listed as “Full Participation in Practice” despite suffering from sore foot, and shoulder injures. Today, he’s not listed on the report at all, according to the Globe’s Mike Reiss.
Bill Belichick has said he expects Brady to play, and Tom Brady said he hopes to play, but it’s not his choice. Basically, for the full information about the injury or any other injury, you’re not getting it from Patriots players or coaches or staff. Belichick has always believed in utilizing anything it takes to get an edge over your opponent, including fooling with the injury report.Tags: tom brady, tom brady injury, espn, tom brady knee, tom brady knee injury
Sarah Palin Called Barack Obama 'Sambo'
On the heels of her triumphant speech at the Republican National Convention on Sept. 3 comes a disturbing report that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin referred to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama as "sambo," a derogatory term for a black person.
"So Sambo beat the bitch!” That's how Palin reportedly described Obama’s victory over Hillary Clinton to colleagues at a restaurant in Alaska just days after Obama secured the Democratic presidential nomination.
Lucille, a waitress who had served Palin's table at the time, recounts that Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary race came up. Palin, seemingly not caring that other people would hear her, allegedly made the racist slur and then laughed aloud as her meal mates joined in.
“It was kind of disgusting,” Lucille, who is part Aboriginal, said in a phone interview" Lucille, who spoke on condition of anonymity, says she's afraid of being found out. But, she underscores, racial and ethnic slurs are “just Alaska” and common, everyday chatter for Palin.
In addition to insulting Obama, people who know Sarah Palin say she regularly refers to Alaska’s Aboriginal people as “Arctic Arabs” – lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description – as well as the more colorful “mukluks” along with the totally unimaginative “f**king Eskimos,” according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians.
But being openly racist is only the tip of the Palin iceberg. According to Alaskans interviewed for this article, she is also vindictive and mean. We’re talking Karl Rove mean and Richard Nixon vindictive.
If Palin wants to make jokes, maybe she should stick to wearing funny T-shirts, like the one she sported in college that reads: I may be flat broke, but I'm not flat busted.
