Recently directed by theatrical legend Zoe Caldwell (Master Class), Nelson portrayed famed conductor 'Andre Previn' in Dory Previn's 'Scitzofriend'. His film credits include Griffin Dunne's feature _Lisa Picard is Famous_(2000)_ produced by Mira Sorvino, USA Films Lesser Prophets (1997), the Slamdance feature _Home Sweet Hoboken (2000_ (w/ Ben Gazzara), Edward Vilga's _Dead Broke_(1999)_ (opposite Paul Sorvino), and award-winning documentary filmmaker Annick Vroom's documentary feature 'Starring Adam Nelson' in 1998.
Best known for his work in Ethan Hawke's Malaparte Theater Company he has been associated with some of New York's grittiest theaters groups including The Adobe Theater Company, Naked Angels, Manhattan Class Company, Cucaracha Theatre, Circle Rep and Arden Party. A consummate artist, he enrolled in Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Philadelphia's University of the Arts where he earned his BFA before attending Theater Certificate programs at both Yale and Oxford University.
