Mini Biography
Brent directed a wide range of productions over the last several years including the darkly humorous "Greg the Bunny" (2002), "Caroline in the City" (1995), "The Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame", "America's Greatest Pets" (1998), "Union Square" (1997) and "How To Lose Friends and Irritate People". Brent also directed a special "50th Birthday Film" for Billy Crystal's birthday party, starring Rob Reiner, Martin Short and Christopher Guest among many others.
Brent was Emmy and Grammy nominated in 1998 as co-producer on the Robert Altman film Jazz '34 (1996). He also oversaw the editing of this jazz spectacular, featuring a number of current jazz greats portraying jazz stars of the 1930s. In addition he produced and directed the Short films "Extras", Chantmania: The Benzedrine Monks of Santo Damonica (1994) (V), The Fan (1995) (V) starring Judy Tenuta and "Exceeding Expectations" with Harry Anderson. Brent was a featured director on "The Dog & Pony Show" broadcast. He worked as sketch director on the "Stephanie Miller show", and he served as co-producer on Harry Anderson's CBS special "Tricks Of His Trade". Brent served as co-producer and editor on the first season of "The Larry Sanders Show" (1992) helping to create the backstage look that served the show so well. He was one of a number of producers and the editor on the CBS comedy "Dave's World" (1993), and has long been involved in the world of comedy. He also served in that capacity on the critically acclaimed HBO series "Sessions" (1991) created by Billy Crystal.
Brent is also heavily involved in the world of music, directing and producing music videos for a number of alternative country and folk acts, including Dale Watson and Chuck E. Weiss.
Brent started in television as a news photographer in Phoenix and Minneapolis. Before becoming involved with television, he was a roustabout in the Tulsa oil fields and cooked hamburgers. He prefers television.
