Mini Biography
Bushwick Bill was born under the name Richard Stephen Shaw in Kingston, Jamaica, on December 1, 1966. His father is a merchant marine, and his mother a maid. According to a source from the Houston Chronicle, he is a high school dropout, and reads at the fourth grade level. He has failed a majority of courses in his freshman year in high school. Like actors Billy Barty and Herve Villechaize, he is a dwarf. His stage name came from the Brooklyn district that he lived in.
Trivia
In 1995 he had his name legally changed to "Dr. Wolfgang Von Bushwickin the Barbarian Mother-Funky Stay High Dollar Billstir".
Lost right eye after an accidental shooting on October 10, 1991. He was intoxicated after drinking Everclear, and threatened his live-in girlfriend. The song "Ever So Clear", from his solo album "Little Big Man", detailed this incident. His picture (from the emergency room) ended up on the cover of the Geto Boys "We Can't Be Stopped" album.
Fan of the Child's Play movies, in which he had done a couple of songs that spoofed the Chucky doll. Sometimes called Chuckwick, in which he is a fan of the Chucky doll from the Child's Play movies.

His last CD, released in October 1998 - No Surrender . . . No Retreat, was dedicated to Gil Epstein, a slain Fort Bend County prosecutor, murdered outside the Jewish Community Center in Houston, Texas, in 1996. Epstein's killer is currently on death row. The CD is under his label, Lickle Getto Boy $ N' Cents Ent. A picture of Gil Epstein and his nephew, along with his ID badge, are inside the CD cover.
