Mini Biography
Carl Horner is a THEA Award-winning Production Designer, which he won as a Senior Production Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering on the Tokyo DisneySea theme park. Horner was also an instructor at the Art Institutes Internationale, in the Industrial Design Technology department. During his tenure at the Art Institute, he not only taught but also wrote and developed curriculum, including the "Psychology of Perception" and "Film Making I & II".
Having worked in a number of different roles in the film industry, he was the Art Director on the Rob Zombie film Werewolf Women of the SS (2007), which is part of Quentin Tarantino's and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse (2007). He was the Miniature Effects Supervisor on Touchstone Pictures Spaced Invaders (1990) and the Special Effects Supervisor on Stephen King's The Dark Half (1993). His more recent work has been featured in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Blade: Trinity (2004), Team America: World Police (2004), and the TV miniseries 10.5 (2004) (TV).
Horner was recently on staff at Appled Minds, Inc., which Newsweek magazine has hailed as "The Museum of the future". During his tenure at AMI, he worked on various design projects for the United States Government and Fortune 500 companies.
It is also rumored that Carl does a wicked Elvis impersonation, along with killer versions of Metallica and Soft Cell while he is singing his heart out in karaoke bars, both great and small, all around the world. He also has a passion for Thai food, and the ongoing 'Evolution versus Intelligent Design' debate. Carl and his wife Kristina are both in active development on their own film projects.
