Christopher J. Keene is an entertainment lawyer and a producer of documentary films.
At Archer Norris, Los Angeles, Keene represents actors, writers, and directors and advises production companies, publishers, digital content providers, and media financiers.
Keene's producing credits include The Kid Stays in the Picture and Chicago 10.
The Kid Stays in the Picture premiered at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival and was an official selection at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a seven-minute standing ovation. The film was released nationwide in the summer of 2002 by Focus Features and was named one of the ten best films of the year by over 50 film critics in the US. It was named Best Documentary of 2002 by the International Press Academy (The Golden Satellite Award), the Boston Film Critics, Seattle Film Critics, and Washington D.C. Film Critics.
Keene re-teamed with Academy Award-nominated director Brett Morgen to produce the documentary feature Chicago 10. Chicago 10 opened the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was released in theaters around the world in the spring and summer of 2008. Steven Spielberg will produce and direct a narrative adaptation of the film (The Trial of the Chicago 7), with Will Smith, Kevin Spacey, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Sasha Baron Cohen currently set to star.
Keene cut his teeth as a downtown Los Angeles litigator and an agent trainee at Endeavor. He is a graduate of U.C.L.A. and Vanderbilt University School of Law. |
