Cindy was born and raised in DeKalb, Illinois. She was her high school valedictorian with exceptional grades. she was awarded a scholarship and attended Northwestern University, where she studied chemical engineering. She spent two summers of modeling, represented by Elite Model Management in Chicago, which lead her to supermodel success in New York. Cindy became Mrs. Rande Gerber in 1998, and the couple has one son Presley Walker.
