Dancing with the Stars sees 10
couples taking to the floor on the first
show -- and
one will be knocked out in the very first week! There'll be more dancing, more well-loved classic
tunes and lots more
rhinestones.
Every Thursday night, the couples will each perform either a Ballroom or Latin American dance and be judged by pros and the viewers at home. Our professional dance judges, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, return to cast their votes and opinions.
Phone lines and online polls will open at the top of each Thursday night performance show so that viewers can vote for their favorites and lines will stay open for approximately 30 minutes after the end of the show.
The following night, in the 30-minute Dancing with the Stars Result show (premiering Friday, January 6 at 8/7c), the couple with the lowest combined score from the judges and the viewers will be eliminated from the competition. The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the viewers at home, ensuring unpredictable outcomes at the end of every Show.
The weekly results shows are a new addition to the format. As well as revealing the couple to be eliminated from the competition, the show will also feature performances from top musical acts, professional dance demonstrations and exciting behind-the-scenes footage of training and other aspects of the show.
