Mini Biography
David Michael Ross made his feature film debut in the 2000 Summer Blockbuster release, The Patriot. He attended an open audition and was cast for a very small role which he was told would last approximately 5 days. On his second day of filming the producers put him in a scene with Mel Gibson, Jason Isaccs, and Heath Ledger which was a very pivotal scene in the film. Ross was asked to continue working in the scene until it was complete, which was almost two weeks later. He was given a line in the scene, but eventually was cut. Ross continued to work on other scenes thought the film and as result worked consistently for four months. After "The Patriot", Ross met with casting directors for a Warner Bros film, Juwanna Mann. He worked with actors 'Vivica Fox' and Miguel Nunez for two weeks and got a feel for a comedy film. It was at this time that Ross began writing the feature film Comedy, "Rookies The Movie", about two bumbling cops that save a small town from a would-be-bandit and his gang, which he and life-long friend Ray Keziah teamed up and wrote, produced and directed. The film was an indie project filmed mostly in their hometown of Norwood, North Carolina in the South. The film featured 'Sheriff Gerald Hege' of the infamous "Inside Cell Block F" series on Court TV. Ross also cast Daylan Hunneycutt, co-star of the feature film "My Dog Skip" to play the younger version of one of the main characters. Because of Sheriff Hege's appearance in the film, attention was gained. After "Rookies" Ross appeared in the feature film, The Last Summer (2004).
Since his last acting appearance, Ross has been busy writing. He sold the film rights to a nationally award winning baseball novel, sold a feature film horror screenplay, and He has co-written several screenplays with his partners Nick G. Miller, and Matthew Ashford. Inn late 2006 Executive Producer Tommy Kelly and John Mullis joined the team and produced the new film "The Unlikely's starring William Forsythe.
In 2001 Ross was invited to play in a celebrity softball game for charity in Greenville with the cast of NBC's Daytime Drama, "Days of Our Lives". Since then he has played every summer with the cast for the Greenville Youth of the Taylor's Youth Association and has appeared in several press photos with the cast in "Soap Opera Weekly".
