Composer ("Bright Lights of Brussels", theme for the Brussels World's Fair), songwriter ("Years and Years Ago"), arranger and pianist with dance bands (including Guy Lombardo); he wrote songs for films and special music for television. He was Artists & Repertoire director for RCA Victor.
Joining ASCAP in 1943, his chief musical collaborators included Jack Segal and Edward Layton. His song compositions also included "Happy Birthday Polka", "Yankee Baseball Theme", "Melancholy", and "I Touched a Star".
