Mini Biography
Ed Metzger, an accomplished actor and writer, has been seen in many major films, on television, and the Broadway stage. However, he is best known for portraying Albert Einstein in his nationally acclaimed one-man show, "Albert Einstein: The Practical Bohemian," which he performs at major theaters throughout the country as well as on Broadway and The Kennedy Center. His show is the only one endorsed by The Einstein Family. Metzger created his second one-man show portrayal of Ernest Hemingway in "Hemingway: On the Edge," where he captures the robust and artistic qualities of the great writer. He also tours "Hemingway" nationally. When Metzger grew up in Brooklyn, he developed an interest in medicine, which became his major at The University of Alabama and The University of Florida. However, the acting bug bit him, and he moved to Los Angeles for drama training at the prominent Pasadena Playhouse. Eventually, he returned to New York and studied at the prestigious Actors Studio with the honored Method master, Lee Strasberg. Metzger and his wife, Laya, who is also his agent, manager, co-writer and producer, live in the Los Angeles area and love traveling together with their many projects. He is a member of SAG, AFTRA and AEA.
