Was hired by MGM to dub Greta Garbo's voice into Italian when Garbo's pictures were released to the Italian market. Former ballet dancer and actress who met husband John Lodge while filming an Italian movie in 1937. Moved permanently with her two children to Spain after President Dwight D. Eisenhower named her husband ambassador to that country. She retired and became an active first lady when her husband became governor of Connecticut in 1951. A patron of the arts, she promoted concerts and the theatre in the state and was a founding member of the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut. Daughter Lily Lodge born 1930.
