Mini Biography
One of the most popular comic actors of Mexican Cinematography and Television. Gaspar Henaine, better known as "Capulina", was the son of an hotel owner. His father, Elias Henaine, borned from Lebanese parents, wanted that he followed the hotel business, but he prefer to follow an artistic career. From his native Puebla, Mexico, traveled to Mexico City, where he began with the musical trio "Los Excentricos Del Ritmo", in the first 1940s, and years later he formed his own, "Los Trincas", playing in popular theaters and marquees. After a relative success, Capulina tried in the XEW (now _Televisa S.A. de C.V._), the biggest and most important radio station and Television channel in Latin America, and occasionally at The Blanquita Theater, places where he sang and played the guitar along with important figures of the time. His first appearances in movies were singing with his fellows musicians in "Los Trincas", including his long time partner, Marco Antonio Campos, with who later form one of the most famous comic couples in the Mexican Cinematography and Television, known as "Viruta y Capulina". They're considered the Mexican version of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy . There was just a little difference. Viruta , the thin one, was the smart guy and the "head" of the couple, who suffer the goofs, mistakes and gags from Capulina , the fatty one, who received punishments such as nips and beats in the head with his own holed hat. Capulina and Viruta style was of a very particular slapstick comedy, in which Capulina had a coward personality, with a great variety of mannerisms (trembling body, quivering voice), making funny faces as well, using his characteristic and large mustache. These routines made them very famous in their first movies, such as _La Sombra del otro (1957)_,_Se los chupo la bruja (1958)_,_Muertos De Miedo (1958)_, etc. Viruta and Capulina alternate movies with television, appearing in the "Cómicos y canciones" (1956) program, during the 1950s, and 1960s. In this night variety program, the most famous in the first age of Mexican Television, both had versatile performances, where the funny couple made their comic routines (written by future comedian actor Roberto G ...
