Mini Biography
Gleb Kaminer was born in Baku, Azerbaijan (former USSR), and spent his first thirteen years being a kid and running on the streets, although most of his time went to swimming, - a national swimming team for seven years. After the national conflict in Azerbaijan, in the 90s began, his parents fled to Natania, Israel where they settled as "new immigrants". There he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree and soon enough was dispatched to military service. After demobilization, the fortune played his way and he and his wife ended up in Los Angeles. In his early teens Gleb thought about writing and even tried to write a novel, but his swimming practices occupied most of his time. Only in Los Angeles did he finally go back to writing. While writing, he was very intrigued by the idea of characterization of his own heroes and began impersonating them while writing and just fell in love with the process and his passion to acting was born. Here he met his acting teacher, Jack Colvin, "The Incredible Hulk" (1978), - from The Michael Chekhov Studio, - who guided him through and taught him The Michael Chekhov Technique for four years and made him become an actor. He appeared in various shows like: "Berlioz: The Romantic", playing a French writer, Victor Hugo's friend, Alfred De Vigny; "Illya Darling", a Russian sailor, who gets picked up by a famous Greek hooker, Illya; "The Merchant of Venice", Salerio, the messenger; "Perseus - The Hero", playing the Perseus and "The Imaginary Invalid", doctor Purgon, Argan's favorite doctor. He's a member of TrapDoor Ensemble Theatre Company, ART Players Theatre and the newly founded The Jewish Hebrew Stage.
Kaminer is fluent in Russian and Hebrew.
Wrote six short scripts (for fun) and two feature length scripts (for sale) and currently trying to promote them; the other two feature length scripts are in the works.  home  New Titles Cataloged. |
