Jamia Simone Nash was born on August 21, 1996 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia. she first started singing when she was 2 years old, 12 months after she started speaking. Ever since then everyone knew it was destined that she would become a star who would charm the hearts of many, young and old. With her parents being gospel singers you would think her talented singing started in the church, but it didn't. When asked if she start singing in church, she replied "No, at my house." Even with that being the case we can not deny that her talent is one of God's given.

She was first discovered when she was just 5 years old, after winning the Apollo Kids talent Search Competition at Atlanta's Gwinnett Place Mall where she sang the Alicia Keys song, "Fallin". Since then, Jamia has proved to be a wonderful singer, actress, as well as person with her vibrant personality and soulful voice. She has only been singing for a few years but she has already shared the stage with artists such as Monica, Tyrese Alicia Keys and Anthony Hamilton just to name a few.

She has been seen at many appearances. Some of the appearances she has been apart of are the 2003 Essence Awards, The NBA All star Game where She sang the National Anthem, The Maury Show, and Soul Train Christmas Starfest, and Steve Harvey's Big Time. Many of the shows she does are just for fun and experience but she also does a lot of charity work, like performing at the Dedication Of The Painted Turtle Camp. A family care center for children with life threatening illnesses. She has done charity work so far to benefit cancer, sickle cell anemia, and multiple sclerosis funds to find cures for these diseases.

Jamia is one of 2 children. Her sister Olivia, is four years younger. Olivia also sings and has been featured on a Talib Kweli song called "Black Girl Pain" along with Jamia. On stage Jamia may seem to be all work and no play, but She's still your typical ten-year-older, and soon to be eleven. she likes to play on the swings at her local play ground, ride her scooter with her little sister and go swimming on nice summer days.

Jamia doesn't let fame get to her head. To assure that Jamia has a regular childhood her parents keep her in a public elementary school, 5 days a week. It is said that her school has one of the highest test scores in the district. Jamia loves to talk and is always active in class. She still loves to play with her friends, her little sister and her dog, Bleu and sing at church.

A talented, ten-year-old bundle of energy, Jamia Simone Nash is a joy to behold and definitely a superstar in the making.

Singing with incredible conviction since the ripe old age of two, Jamia has wowed National audiences on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno (twice) and during three appearances on "Good Morning America", the latter featuring a duet with Alicia Keys. But perhaps Jamia's most breathtaking performance has been her rendition of the Michael Jackson classic "Who's Loving You?" on "Showtime At The Apollo", the nationally syndicated television program.

Known for demanding only the very best from its performers, even from a then six-year-old, Jamia brought the sellout crowd at Harlem's landmark Apollo Theater to its feet with her stirring version of the song which arguably established a then nine-year-old Michael Jackson as a child singer without peer. Coincidentally, Jamia is co-managed by Suzanne de Passe, former president of Motown Productions, whose storied career includes being credited as the person who convinced an initially reluctant Berry Gordy to sign the Jackson Five to his Motown record label.

Like the young Michael Jackson, Jamia is also the genuine article, a prodigy who began speaking at twelve months and announced her intentions to be a performer twelve months later, noted her parents, James and Charlene Nash, accomplished singers and musicians in their own right. Residents of Atlanta, Georgia, the Nash family includes five-year-old Olivia, who can't wait for her turn at the microphone.

Jamia has been generating a lot of buzz in Hollywood, securing acting roles on the UPN series "Half and Half", two appearances on ABC's "My Wife and Kids", the WB's "7th Heaven", "Steve Harvey's Big Time", and backed by a choir, She performed two selections on the "Soul Train Christmas Starfest 2003". Her other notable performances include singing the National Anthem during 2003 NBA All-star Game festivities as well as performing for President Bush at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. 2004 performances included singing before the King of Jordan and stealing the show at a Phoenix fund-raiser which featured Celine Dion.

In March 2005, as part of a stellar entertainment ensemble that included Earth, Wind and Fire, Jamia performed for Yahoo's Board of Directors. In April 2006, Jamia completed filming of her role in the Warner Brothers' movie "August Rush", a drama starring Freddie Highmore, the young star of "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory"; 2005 Oscar Award nominee for best Actor Terrence Howard; Kerri Russell of "Felicity"; and the legendary Robin Williams.

In may 2006, Jamia began filming of her role as ten-year-old Fantasia Barrino in "Life Is Not A Fairytale", a Lifetime channel movie on the life of the 2004 "American Idol" winner. Additionally, in the fall of 2006, Jamia She starred in "Jamia In Atlantis", shot entirely at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas.
