Jenny McCarthy, the former host of Singled Out and The
Jenny McCarthy
Show, has become a multi-faceted actress, with recent roles in such diverse films as Scream 3 and
Diamonds, with
Kirk Douglas,
Lauren Bacall and
Dan Ackroyd. As the co-host of the
popular MTV series Singled Out,
Jenny's outrageous and fun-loving personality
made her an instant favorite with television viewers. Following a guest appearance on the NBC comedy Wings,
she starred in her own MTV comedy/variety
show, The Jenny McCarthy Show where
She mixed comedy with presenting musical guests. This led in turn to her own network sitcom, Jenny, in 1997. McCarthy followed that with
clever, tongue-in-cheek ad and
commercial spots for Candie's and has since appeared on episodes of The
Drew Carey Show,
Just Shoot Me and Showtime's Going to
California. Among her many television emcee stints, she hosted ESPN's
Maui Sports Challenge and co-hosted the 2002
American Music Awards with
Sean Puffy Combs. She currently has a
deal with ABC to develop a series.
Jenny made her motion picture debut in Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead with Andy Garcia and Christopher Walken and also appeared in The Stupids with Tom Arnold. In 1998, McCarthy starred in Universal's BASEketball with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of Comedy Central's South Park. she has competed a role in the upcoming independent film, The Perfect You. In 1996, McCarthy handpicked fourteen classic surfing songs for her album, Jenny McCarthy's Surfin' Safari, on Interscope Records. Her autobiography, Jen-X, was published by HarperCollins in the fall of 1997.
