Mini Biography
Joel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ("the good land") and grew up in Madison and then Appleton. He studied at the University of Wisconsin for 2 years, and then transfered to the University of Southern California, moving to LA on his 21st birthday, having never stepped foot in the city previously. He graduated from USC's Film Production Department in 2002. Joel's start in film began in high school with such projects as "Hsuicide: The Motion Picture", "The Cross Country Video", and the "Benz Conquest" car commercial.

Trivia
While shooting his first 16mm film, "Ripe", he did the stunt work and is the figure who actually goes underwater at the end of the film. Booked upwards of 200 flights for crew members traveling to Panama for the shoot for End of the Spear. |
