Brooks began performing at an
early age, singing, dancing and acting primarily to an audience of family and
friends. From his interpretive
performance of the Ghostbusters theme to an impersonation of
Marlon Brando's
Vito Corleone (_The Godfather (1972)_) in his 6th grade
play,
Lee has always had a
love for voices,
music and the
magic of
the movies.
Throughout high school,
Lee participated in various
music,
radio, film and theatre activities, including the
Massachusetts Junior Districts
Music Festival, playing
woodwinds in high school musicals (Bye-bye Birdie,
West Side
Story), and serving as first chair saxophonist and
student president of the ABRHS music program. Despite not having acted earlier, Lee was
cast and starred in several
award-winning roles in productions including
David Ives' "
The Universal Language", "
Guys and Dolls", and on-stage adaptations of "My Last Dutchess" and
"I love Lucy" (1951).
Lee arrived in
New York City for
college just in time for the 2001 attack on the
World Trade Center (he lived on
Washington Square Park West at the
time). He served as
founding President of the Undergraduate
student Composer's
Society (USCS) and
NYU chapter of
the Society of Composers,
Inc. (SCI) from 2002-2004, for which he won a
Leadership award along with his good
friend,
Avery Brooks.
Starting in 2002, he began composing, recording and producing
music, and by his graduation in 2005,
Lee had to his credit 4 self-produced albums as well as musical
scores and sound
design accompanying over 25
Music for multimedia productions, including theatrical shows ('SEX: a.k.a. Wieners and Boobs'),
dance pieces (for the
South Asian dance troupe, NASHA), television cues (for "
NYU Tonight" and "NYU Cribs"), and over
20 film scores, many of which have gone on to festivals. He also acted for a handful of
student film shorts.
Lee has worked with composer/lyricist
Andrew Lippa ("The Wild Party," "You're a Good
Man,
Charlie Brown"), VH1 'Driven (2002)':
Anna Kournikova, the
New York City
Opera,
Dr.
Lawrence Ferrara (
music Copyright Infringement Expert Witness) and others. He currently resides in New
York City as a composer, musician, web designer, DVD author and producer.

Lee's High School
band,
Acton-Boxborough Regional High Scool, which is marching in the 1997 St. Patrick's Day Parade.Afraid he wouldn't be accepted to any of them, applied to 9 colleges, including: the Berklee

New England Conservatory,
Boston University,
Manhattan School of Music,

Massachusetts at
Amherst, SUNY at Purchase, Mannes School of

New School Jazz and Contemporary Program, and
New York Unversity. He was accepted to all 9 and attended
NYU.He has scored
music for over 25 films from directors in
New York City and
Los Angeles, including two
student films,
one which was showcased at the 2005
Telluride Film Festival, and one which was a 2005
Student Academy Awards Finalist.In his senior year of high school, he won the
Woody Herman Jazz Award,
Best Senior

Male Actor, Best Rookie Actor, and was commissioned by the
senior class to compose the
music and words for a fight song and
alma mater.Son of a

engineer and a Large Family
