Although listed as being from Amman, Jordan in his wrestling bios, Mark was actually born and raised in Syracuse, New York.
Has an older brother and a younger sister.
Attended Ohio Valley Wrestling where he was trained by Nick Dinsmore (a.k.a. Eugene from WWE) and Danny Davis.
Attended the University of Buffalo prior to dropping out during his sophomore year to become a professional wrestler.
Debuted in Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2003 and eventually became OVW Heavyweight Champion and a member of the Revolution.
