Salans LLPSalans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn was founded in Paris in 1978 by French and American lawyers intent on creating a multinational law practice that would combine the complementary skills of lawyers trained in the European civil law and Anglo-American common law traditions.
In 1998, Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn merged with Harris Rosenblatt & Kramer, a UK law firm with a specialized banking and corporate practice, and also Paris-based FG Associés, a law firm specializing in new technologies.
In 1999, Christy & Viener, a New York law firm with origins in the 1930s and an international focus, joined practices with Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn in the first transatlantic law firm merger.
The firm practices as Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn HRK in London, as Salans Hertzfeld Heilbronn Christy & Viener in New York and elsewhere as Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn. The firm is referred to throughout this website as Salans.
