Mini Biography
Robert Child who resides in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is a twenty year television veteran. His credits include some of the most widely viewed programs in this country ABC's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Food Network's Emeril Live (5 seasons). He began writing and directing independent productions in 2001 and he has won four national awards for outstanding directorial achievement.
In addition in just the last two years his programs have won a combined twenty-one (21) international awards. In April 2004 he was honored with his second consecutive Platinum Remi Award at the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival for his film Gettysburg Three Days of Destiny. He also won the Platinum in 2003.
All of his documentaries and films have secured worldwide distribution through national distribution companies. With only his third independent documentary, Gettysburg The Boys in Blue & Gray, he accomplished what few new filmmakers do. He secured PBS Home Video distribution on the PBS label with all the associated branding and packaging. Translated, PBS felt so strongly about the quality of the production they brought it on board and present it as "one of their own." It resides right next to Ken Burns epic The Civil War in all their offerings. It is airing nationwide this summer (July 2004) on public television stations.
On June 22, 2004 Ardustry Home Entertainment released his first feature film, Gettysburg Three days of Destiny which has already won six national awards and has screened at the Washington, DC Film Festival and the New York Independent Film Festival to much critical acclaim.
