Steven Curtis Chapman was born in Paducah, Kentucky on November 21, 1962. His parents are Herb and Judy Chapman. He attended Heath Highschool in Paducah Kentucky and received the title "Mr. Heath" in his Senior year. He wrote and was a songwriter before he made his first CD "First Hand". Since then he has received 43 Dove awards, 4 Grammys, and countless other honors. He is known and loved for his style of making his audience feel like they are family. All of these things come together to make him the most successful man in Christian Music. Steven has six children, three of which are adopted from China. Their names are Shaohannah, Stevey Joy, and Maria.
