A great lover of pets: he has pigeons, eagles, rabbits, cats, dogs and an eagle. Graduated with a Degree in Commerce from Madras University (found it difficult to go to college in Kerala because of all the attention his fame had brought to him). A classically-trained dancer, Vineeth's dancing talent was first recognized when he was three years old, when he was sent to dancing school. Later, Vineeth performed many stage shows in India and abroad. He used to win the `Kala Pratibha' dance award for the best overall performance in the state youth festival every year while he was at school and college. He has also given stage shows in Gulf and Europe on behalf of `Surya Festivals' of Kerala. Nephew of South Indian actress Padmini, one of the Tranvancore Sisters. It was Padmini and her sister Ragini who forced his parents to send him to dancing school. Was taught how to dance by Guru Kalamandalam Saraswathi, the wife of M.T. Vasudevan Nair. She later recommended him to her husband to star in his film Nakhashathangal (1986). His father is a lawyer and his mother is a doctor.
