Associated Press (AP)

The AP (The Associated Press) is one of the world's largest newsgathering organizations, with about 240 news bureaus serving more than 120 countries. It provides news, photos, graphics, and audiovisual services that reach people daily through print, radio, television, and the Web. In addition to traditional news services, it operates international television division APTN (AP Television News), photo archives, and an interactive news service (AP Digital).

The AP also offers advertising management and distribution services. The not-for-profit cooperative was founded in 1846 and is owned by 1,500 member newspapers.
