Nicol Ann David was born on August 26, 1983 in Penang, Malaysia. Her parents, Desmond David is an engineer, and her mother Ann Marie David is a retired schoolteacher. Nicol is one of Malaysia\'s true sporting supremos. Ranked no. 1 since 2006, she has been almost unstoppable and as of this writing (June 2007), the highest ranked player in the world women\'s squash circuit. In 2005, WISPA honoured Nicole by naming her WISPA Player of the Year.
