Born in Houstan , Texas, David Cook has earned his repute as a singer who has been enlisted amongst top twelve contestants of seventh season of American Idol. After spending days in Blue Springs, Missouri, David Cook is currently placed in Tulsa, Oklahama. In the year 2006, he has completed his graduation from the University of Central Missouri and grabbed the degree as a graphic designer. David Cook is not related to American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook.

David Cook has a passion for singing since his chidhood. When he was in second grade he could play musical instruments like the guitar and bass guitar. From 1999 to 2006 Cook became lead singer and guitarist of Axium , a musical band from the city of Kansas. In fact David Cook gave his voice to \"Hold,\" a song of this band which has been picked up by AMC Theatres Movie Tunes . During previewing it was played on five thousand screens through out the nation . David Cook also gave performance with Tulsa-based band Midwest Kings, performing guitar and babbling out backup vocals.
