High Definition or HD as most refer to it is a term used to describe the resolution of the picture quality. The Term has been around since the 1930's when it was used to describe Both the British 405 line and US 525 line resolutions. The modern use of the term Began with the Japanesse and is slowly begining to make it's way around the world, 1080 P (progressivly scanned lines) is the standard bearer at the moment.
