Free thinking, but always focused, Sean Morrowis as fun-loving as he is serious. Ask him about vision and Sean would say that you have it when you dream big, live with integrity and negotiate well.
During full-time studies at Concordia University, Sean developed his abilities as a motivational speaker and created employment for himself in this area as an invited speaker to high school students. He was also instrumental in organizing the public lecture series at Concordia on HIV/AIDS as its coordinator. There he was involved in major fundraising campaigns as well. His level of skill in communications and marketing allowed him to become a special assistant to the Dean of Students for one year of his studies. As his university life progressed, Sean moved into website development. Sean continued to become involved in a variety of professional opportunities and completed his Bachelor of Communications in 2004.
Website development and Internet presence became a passion. Having started out designing for the web, Sean trained in Search Engine Optimization strategies and practice. Online, search, affiliate, social networking and blog marketing was a natural progression thereafter, as was user interface, design and flow. With proper training and experience in hand, Sean built a consulting business from his passion and worked with a variety of companies. Notable contracts included work with VIA Rail (Communications 90 Degrés), a number of political candidates as well as technology, web and retail enterprises.
Sean remained connected to his community, writing for a variety of public and private organizations – domestically and internationally – and adopting SEO and online marketing strategies to see that maximum publicity and natural organic traffic to a client’s website was achieved.
In 2006, a unique opportunity presented itself where Sean could apply his skills to a dynamic start-up holding a clear vision for a new product. Sean joined Weblo.com in 2006 as Director of Marketing to bring the online virtual world destination to market and to define its brand identity. This move saw Sean assume a role in a dedicated web retail environment. Sean was also engaged at Weblo.com to develop and implement Search Engine Optimization strategies, content channels, online and offline marketing strategies - all seeking to position the company as a premiere online virtual world and social networking platform.
Sean’s experience has seen him manage teams both onsite and remotely, for freelance clients as well as an employee. Whether in a project management capacity, a product development capacity or in his ability to take a concept to market, Sean has played an intricate role in the successes of his freelance partners as well as those of his employment partners.
