Amps for Christ and Two Ambiguous Figures Description
This collective describes its music as "folkcore musical noise," which is a fairly accurate description -- the band takes acoustic instruments and woodwinds and processes them electronically into a semi-distorted haze that's reminiscent of Appalachian, Scottish, and Eastern folk music. The album is much more listenable than some of Amps for Christ's other work, backing off on the electronic noise and opening up into less hazy territory. It's occasionally very entrancing and involving, and even when it's not, it's at least quite interesting.
