One of the Dukes of Dixieland's most exciting records (but unfortunately not yet available on CD), this album has many highlights. Trumpeter Frank Assunto is heard in prime form, clarinetist Jerry Fuller was always a major asset, and the hard-swinging rhythm section includes pianist Gene Schroeder and guitarist Herb Ellis. All 11 selections are quite rewarding, particularly "When You're Smiling," "After You've Gone," "At the Jazz Band Ball" and "Honeysuckle Rose."
