Folk Scat Biography
The jazz scat vocals of Lambert, Hendricks And Ross, Bobby McFerrin and Manhattan Transfer are blended with the musical traditions of Bulgaria by Folk Scat, a five piece group formed and directed by fiddler, percussionist and vocalist Kiril Todorov. While much of the group's repertoire is performed acapella, several tunes are enhanced by light instrumentation. Todorov's background in classical music is balanced by the Bulgarian folk roots of soprano vocalists Mariana Vlaeva and Antoaneta Krumova, alto vocalist Diana Georgieva and tenor vocalist Todor Gerdjikov.
