Help for New Members - Building your Free Celebrity

By:  Beautiful Cat -- Mar 01, 2008 01:03:51  Category: Web, HTML, Tech

Welcome to Weblo... You are probably wondering what to do to get started...How to build your first site?

Guess what?

It is free, and you can soon produce monthly income from your site... One of the more successful sites is Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This was a free site built by A4Astro on July 2007 and has produced $663.00 of income from hits and ads...
A nice return without having to invest any money...

You can do the same... Here are some starting guidelines:

1. Go up to the Celebrities tab near the top of any Weblo page and click on it.
2. Think of a popular celebrity that you like and claim it in the box under "Claim a Celebrity" tab.
3. If you favorite is already taken, try again, or go to Google Trends or Yahoo! Buzz to get new popular ideas.

4. Try to select a celebrity that ranks high in the Google search, so you can get more hits and ad revenue (you will learn more about this later).
5. Once you decide on your Celebrity, "claim it" and go to the "edit" page.
6. Study and get some layout ideas from successful Weblo sites at the Celebrity Directory.

Bar Refaeli

Bar Refaeli is a famous Sports Illustrated swimsuit model...

7. Search Google and web sites for images and info about your favorite celebrity.
8. Copy and paste images into your web site (do not use copyright images). More details on this below.
9. Use Wikipedia for text and other relevant info about your celebrity.

Here is more great info, thanks to Weblogod, who has built and sold some of the most successful sites on Weblo.

Tips For Hits

There are many ways to attract people to your Weblo Assets and profile pages. Outlined in this document are some of the most effective and productive methods.

Before you read the steps of how to attract visitors to your site, I’ll start by letting you know the obvious; the amount of people that have an interest in one asset will vary heavily from another asset. With this in mind, I suggest that you pick your assets wisely. Pick something that you think is really popular at the moment or will be in the near future. For example, I picked Amy Reid who, at the time was an up and coming porn actress. Now, she is one of the most downloaded and viewed porn stars in the business. Another great example would be landmarks, such as the Grand Canyon or the Eifel Tower. With popular people, places, whatever, there are many ways to attract those ever elusive hits. A good way to “gestimate” whether or not your idea for an asset is good or not is by checking out how many people search for it. A good way to measure this is by using Google’s “Google Trends” http://www.google.com/trends

As you can see, Amy Reid has had a very high search volume since about the middle of 2006. This is a good indication that the asset you want to pick will be popular enough to drive people to it and receive hits.

Building the Asset for Google

Now that you have picked an asset that you think will be popular, let’s move onto the actual methods of marketing and attracting people to your newly created asset(s). The first and most important thing to do when you get your asset is to fill it in with as much information as possible. Use every Inch that you can with relevant information. The reason for this is because Google and other search engines will pick up pages that have a lot of relevant information and you will be assigned a high page rank (The Higher the Page rank, the better). You can get tons of relevant content by simply doing a search in Google, and using some of the material on sites such as Wikipedia. If you are going to add content this way, I suggest picking the information from the top 10 links you get from Google. This way, you know that Google has already deemed the information relevant to the subject. So If we were going to build an asset page on The Grand Canyon for example, we would use the content contained in the links circled in red to fill our asset pages.

Please note that while adding content from other sites is recommended as a base, I in no way, shape, or form am telling you to break any copyright laws. However, Wikipedia and other sites are free for anyone to use . Also, please note that while using content from other sites will boost your page rank, you should also have some original content; this will set you apart from the other sites and Google won’t think you are just copying the information.

Great, now that you have added a bunch of text to your asset page, it’ time to add some pictures and make your page stand out a little more. Make sure to add a bunch of pictures to your photo gallery. This will attract a lot of Weblo Members and even random people who stumble on your asset page to stay there longer and take a look. In order to Upload pictures to your asset page go to your asset page (you must be logged in) and click on “Edit Site”

Add as many photos as you can. If you need a place to download photos to upload to your asset page’s image gallery, Google Images is a good place to go.

After you have done that, we will now be Adding photo’s around your Text in the biography, owner’s message and news sections.

Now the images that we want to add to the areas with text in our assets can’t just be any images. You need to check Google images and search for them. You will use the top ones. (up to 5). For example, we will do a search for “Grand Canyon”.

Notice how two of the three top images say Weblo?, well a couple of days ago they said a different website. This is because Google indexes the top images relating to “Grand Canyon” and links them to the various web sites where people are viewing them. Because you have just started your asset and not put any pictures up, you will need these. However, do not copy them to your computer and then upload them to the image gallery. This time, we won’t be using a hard copy, but rather the copy that is already there. In order to do so, click on each picture that you want.

Once you do that you should see a page like this. Click on the picture like the one I have circled in red.

Now you the browser will take you to the photo’s actual web location. Now you need to note that location, to do so, simply right click on the image itself and select “copy image location”.

Then paste the location in a blank document. You will use them once you are finished repeating this process for every image you want.

Now that you have copied the location of each image you will use into an empty document, we will proceed to adding them into your Weblo Assets.

Once again, go to the “Edit Site” Tab in your asset. This time however, go to either Update News (If you want to add pictures to your news section – If you haven’t already created a News Section, I suggest you do so now, with Relevant content, to do so Click “Add News”) or Edit site (to add pictures to your Owner’s Message or Biography Sections)

For the purpose of this article I will show you how to add the pictures in the News Section. It is the same process however, for any of the other sections.

First select where you want the image to appear by moving your curser to the location and clicking. I suggest using the top area of your News Section, or next to some keywords in your text that relate to the subject matter. Once you have done this, click on the “Add Image” icon in the editor:

Once you do that, the Image adding tool should appear. Where it says “Image URL”, add one of the image URL that you copied earlier. In the Image Description, use keywords that appear in your text and that relate to the images you are adding. In “Title” add the subject of the picture, In this case, Grand Canyon. Do not hit Update yet. You must click on the appearance tab on the top of the image tool to set some other settings.

Once you are on the Appearance settings, you want to change the size. Because most Pictures you will find on the internet are much to large to fit inside any of the Weblo sections of you asset page, you want to shrink them down, especially since you want to add more than one. For example, I have put the resolution to 150 x 100. Press Update. You can play around with the size depending on how many pictures you want to add, etc.

Repeat the process until you are satisfied and you have enough pictures in each of your sections. Remember to not add to many photos. The reason for this is that Google will notice, and will suspect you of trying to get indexed, so it will ban your site. You do not want this! So make sure that each section has a maximum of 3 photos and has plenty of related text around it. With that done, once you start attracting people to your asset page, it should get indexed by Google and Google Images in no time. Another thing to do is add your asset page to Google. This can be done at http://www.google.com/addurl/

Simply add the url, and in the Comments section, enter the subject of your asset. I.E. Grand Canyon.

Marketing your asset page on other sites.

Whew, ok now that you are done optimizing your Asset page for Google, it is time to start marketing your website to other sites and attracting people to it.

As stated earlier in this article, there are many ways to market your asset page to other sites. Some include submitting relevant videos to Youtube and adding the link of your asset in the description of the video.

Another way is to create a blog, and start writing articles about the changes you made to your asset pages. I would suggest using blogger, as it is owned by Google, and therefore shows up more in Google searches; also the links that you add in your blogger blog get indexed by Google faster. So if you do start a blog, make sure to backlink(adding links to your text, very easy in blogger, simply highlight the text and click the “link” button and add the url.

Another great site that will help you get loads of traffic is digg.com I would suggest creating an account there, and start leaving comments on articles that relate to your asset. You can also leave a backlink if you think it is appropriate. WARNING: Using Backlinks on Digg when not appropriate could result in the ban of your account as well as the removal of all your comments. Put simply, you do not want this to happen, as it will undo all of your hard work.

Another great way to get internal traffic is to keep your assets updated daily and to message your Weblo friends and have them rank your asset page in exchange for a ranking from yourself. This will tremendously boost your Weblo ranking, and will in effect boost your Google page ranking, so remember to constantly add new pictures to your image gallery, update your news, on a daily basis and you will start getting many more hits.

You can also try posting backlinks on forums that relate to your Assets. The key is to be polite and not intrusive. This will guarantee that people viewing your backlinks don’t see them as spam, and in consequence, more of the people viewing the forum will click through to your Asset Page.

Another tried and tested way of generating traffic for your asset pages is by going to image boards and posting images relating to your asset page and writing backlinks in the description for people to click on and visit your page. There are many popular image boards, but the most popular is 4chan. If you post images to 4chan every couple of hours or even every day, you will see a great deal of traffic come to your site.

That’s all for now, Happy Hunting!
