Yavanna. Palúrien. ( Bringer of fruit.) Kementari. ( Queen of the Earth.) Palúrien. is the bringer of Fruit, Queen of the Earth. She loves everything which lives in the ground, from her woom came the trees and the flowers and all there is growing in Arda, and from her came the two trees in Valinor, Telperion and Laurelin, the light of Valinor, and from those came the Sun and the Moon. Yavanna lives with Aulë and she is the next after Varda of the Ainur Queens, in Elventongue she is called Kementari, Queen of Earth. Her sister is Vána. Separate from the other houses of the Valar in Valmar upon the plain of Valinor was Aulë`s and Yavanna`s house and it was filled with magic webs In this court were some of all the trees that grew upon the earth, and a pool of blue water lay among them. There fruits fell throughout the day, thudding richly to earth upon the grass of its margin, and they were gathered by Yavanna`s maids and near South of Valmar near the Woods of Oromë had Yavanna her fields the Pastures of Yavanna. Valian Years ( V.Y.) 0 - 3450. V.Y. 0 - 1500. Uncounted years filled with labouring had gone by in the timeless ages before the Gods decented into the world in year 0. But Melkor contested the overlordship of Manwë and strife were in the world. Manwë summoned help and among those who heard was Tulkas and he came to the aid. Before his face Melkor fled out into Eä. In these years were Yavanna told of the Dwarves and went to Manwë. V.Y.1500 - 1900. Now Yavanna planted the seeds she had prepared for so long, the Gods settled at Almaren and the world came to life. But the seeds needed light to grow and Yavanna went to Aulë her husband and at her prayer he wrought two great lamps Ormal and Illuin to lit the earth and these were set in 1900 upon Helkar and Ringil. Tress and beasts swollened the earth and the Spring of Arda began. Yet no birds or flowers had sung or bloomed for these things were still awaiting there time in the bosom of Yavanna. V.Y. 1900 - 3450. but Melkor saw it from the outside of the Wall of Things and grew hot and he heard it from his spies ( Sauron the chiefest of them ) already among the Gods. Melkor called to him spirits and crept over the Wall of Things and entered Arda in the North and assailed the Lamps and overthrew them and the blossom of the earth was checked. V.Y. 3450 - V.Y. 3500 The Gods departed to Aman where Aulë deemed the plains of Valinor a good place to build their new home. A great labour now began for the Gods. When Valinor was fullwrought and the mansions of the gods were established Yavanna hallowed Ezellohar before the Western gate and she sat long upon the grass singing a song of power of things that grow in the earth and with her was Nienna who watered the mould with tears and upon Ezellohar came forth two slender shoots. Under her song the saplings grew and became tall and fair. And there in the V.Y.3500 came the two trees Silpion and Laurelin into being. Related Links.: Battles.: Struggle of Shaping Arda. V.Y.t 0 - 1000 This was the Noontide of Valinor though Middle-earth was still in darkness and only Oromë and Yavanna came there at times and the stewardship of Middle-earth was partly neglected and Melkor ruled there with violence save the times where Oromë hunted there. Yavanna was unwilling to utterly forsake the Outer lands for all things that grow are dear to her and she mourned for the works that she had begun there and at times she would come and heal the hurts of Melkor. V.Y.t 1000 - 1050 At the prayer of Yavanna to the council of the gods Varda began the second setting of stars for the awakening of the Elves V.Y.t 1090 - 1092 Manwë took council in his heart and with Ilúvatar and summoned the gods and declared to them his thoughts and the gods decided to capture Melkor. V.Y.t 1092 - 1100 The gods went to war and made Melkor captive and brought him to Valinor where he was doomed before the feet of Manwë to serve 3 ages in the fastness of Mandos. V.Y.t.1133 Arrival of the Elves to Aman. V.Y.t.1142 Yavanna gave the Noldor and image of Telperion, this white tree was planted beneath Mindon-Eldaliéva where it grew and flourished yet it did not light of its own. V.Y.t 1400 Melkor sued for pardon and against the wish of Tulkas, Oromë and Aulë, Melkor was released but should stay in Valinor V.Y.t 1400 - 1496. The Shadow began to grow in Valinor because of Melkor`s lies and in 1490 the truth was discovered at a council, Fëanor was dispossessed. Melkor hid in Arvelin in 1492 gathering strength and plotting evil. V.Y.t 1495 Manwë sought to heal the evil that had arisen in Valinor and he declared a great feast but during the feast Melkor returned with Ungoliant, killed Finwë, stole the Silmarils and destroyed the two Trees. Then he escaped to Middle-earth. V.Y.t.1496 The departure from Valinor, Fëanor departed with a great host against the advice of the Gods. V.Y.t 1496 - 1500. These years between the killing of the Trees and the rise of the Sun and Moon were the Years of Darkness or the Years of the Darkening of Valinor. Long it has been said the Valar sat in silent thoughts, holding counsel with each other by the power of minds in the Ring of Doom and when the answer of Fëanor arrived Manwë bowed his head and wept for the loss of beauty but he raised his head and bade Yavanna and Nienna to put forth all their powers of healing and by the uttermost of their strength and power Telperion and Laurelin bore each one a single fruit which became the Sun and Moon. The First age are counted from the rising of the Sun, this happened at the very same time as Fingolfin and his host arrived in Mithrim after the crossing of the Grinding ice. F.A.536. When Eärendil came before the Powers of the World he, according to Earliest Tales, must have passed the Ellesar to Yavanna. Second Age. The End of the Second Age came by with Manwë`s council with Eru. When Ar-Pharazôn the last King of Númenor finally was persuaded by Sauron to assail Aman and the fleet of Númenor reached the shores of Aman and thunderbolts and fire smothe the land, the Gods first were silent in sorrow and dismay but at last Manwë spoke to Iluvatar and took council and power of the Lord of All and the fate and fashion of the world was changed. Curumo was unwilling to take Aiwendil with him but Yavanna wanted it so. Why this was so important for her that the company of Istaris send to Middle-Earth to aid in the strive against Sauron had one with a particular love of the things of her making, there are no explanations but it might be of the reason and love for the scorched earth she sought in her mind he could aid in the healing and prevent all Olvars and Kelvars to fall under Saurons dominion and will. According to the Earliest Tales Yavanna gave Olorin the Ellesar which he was instructed to pass on to Galadriel.
