By:  BAVARIA -- May 28, 2007 09:05:52  Category: Art and Photography
Well, yes I said I wanted to stop bying...but look folks, I just could not resist bying into one of the biggest markets and upcoming economic leaders in Latin America...BRAZIL! I got some of Brazils Top Cities, all between 300,000 and 900,000 inhabitants, for under 15$ each...irresistible! And such beautiful tourist destinations among them, beaches, babes etc....in a few months time, these will look like the biggest bargains ever on Weblo! Brazil is the future!

What do you hear about the new site? I'm very curious to see how an upgrade drives growth. Bavaria, how did you get Google maps on your profile page. . that is very cool. I'm using Weblo as a teaching tool in my university class on entrepreneurship. We'll be working in Istanbul (Thanks again for the trade Sunny Days) I've had to pay up quite a bit since I only found out about weblo in mid-August but I couldn't resist the chance to use this for learning. The class raised its seed capital by selling stuff on EBay.

hey sunny-days i just read an article about that, economic theory ignoring the reality of human nature etc...funny!! for them it is all about utility maximisation, but how to measure the utility of being called "mayor" in some virtual world??? but it works!! and 2.35 million dollars, wow...can't wait for weblo to become "mainstream"!!!Good luck!

It's a good thing I bought a few Brazilian cities before you got there! Hey, maybe they'll invite us down (and over) for a whirlwind tour. The keys to the cities and all that. I agree with your analogy about baseball cards. Some economists question how something with no intrinsic value can be sustained, but that's exactly what a 1909 Honus Wagner tobacco card does. A tattered, old photo on cardboard that just sold for over 2.35 million dollars! Those fancy economists just don't take human nature into consideration, do they? Keep up the great work!

...you always have to remember that weblo is still in a very very early stage...in 12 months from now people will look with envy on anyyone who has a registered city with more than 50,000 people for 5$ or even 10$! Even if you only see weblo as a kind of baseball card trading game, people will be willing to pay much more for those cities simply because none will be left for initial registration...but as we reach let's say 1m members, cities will make money just because of advertising revenue!
