However what most of us don't realise is that behind those ten-packs and flat abs go hours of rigorous training. Whether it is Esha's dynamic abs in Dhoom or John's buffed muscles that you desire, remember that you have got to follow a strict diet and fitness regime to achieve the look.

Hritik Roshan
Satyajit Chourasia aka Satya: Trainer with Barbarian Gym trains Hritik at his residence
Body type: Hritik has a different body with strong muscles and good muscle definition, which is rare. One can see the cuts on his body very clearly.
Workout routine: He's always enthusiastic about his workouts and devotes one to two hours every day. Half the month he follows a heavy workout where as the other fifteen days it's a light to medium workout with Super Settings, concentrating on biceps and triceps and Circuit Training routines alternately.
 Diet: His diet includes very little carbohydrates at night. (One roti with liquids and egg whites or roasted meat/poultry). A good breakfast is very important which consists of four egg whites, cereal with a cup of skimmed milk and fruits (apple or papaya).

Aishwarya Rai
Dipika Mehta — Health Fitness and Yoga Expert trained Ash for Dhoom 2
Body type: Slim and delicate
Workout routine: Ash practices yoga, pilates, pranayam, as well as weights and cardio.
Her approach towards working out is very spiritual and intense. She's disciplined and always motivated. Once when in London, she was shooting non-stop for 18 hours. She returned exhausted yet completed her workout session. Her svelte body is naturally slim and it is very easy for her to maintain it with a little toning up. She stays away from weights for the fear of her body getting bulky. Instead she uses the Swiss Ball, resistance bands and a combination of yoga and pilates.
Diet: She follows a naturopathy diet, more natural and raw food and not high protein. Ash needs to look healthy and beautiful so she avoids following a drastic diet. Crash dieting can lead to dark circles, pale skin, and body weakness.

Koena Mitra
Abbas Ali — Personal Trainer & Nutritionist, Gold's Gym
Body type: Koena is an Ecto/Meso- Ecto (Skinny but Muscular). She is born with high metabolism which allows her to eat without gaining fat. If she doesn't work out for more than 10 days her body tends to loose weight.
Workout routine: Koena's athletic body responds well to high intensity strength training. She changes her routine every fourth week so the body doesn't adapt to the same sets/reps/rest between sets/intensity & volume.
Periodisation Training Tech routine where we change workouts every 4th week- for example first 4 weeks we follow volume training which includes lots of sets (4-5 sets) and low reps (6-8 reps) and second 4 weeks we go High Intensity Training Tech which includes Super Set, Tri Sets and Giant Sets.
Diet: Her diet plan is based on her lifestyle and body type. It's a high protein, high fibre, moderate carbs and a low fat diet, which includes brown rice, sweet potatoes, vegetables, oats, eggs, fish chicken, tuna and protein supplements.

Salman Khan
Robin D'Souza — Trainer with Gold's Gym; has trained Salman on various occasions
Body type: His body structure is not like a body builder's but good muscles, perfectly in shape and no fat. 
Workout routine: Salman works out for at least two hours continuously. His workout includes one hour of cardio- concentrating on any two body parts each time- triceps, legs, back and biceps. He has the perfect abs and works a lot on them, five hundred crunches, pull-ups and chin-ups. He is very particular about his workouts and once inside the gym he does not get distracted easily. Even if his fans surround him for autographs he requests them to wait until he's done with his routine.  Manish Advilkar trains Salman on a regular basis.

Saif Ali Khan

Body type: Combination of lean muscle mass and athletic 
Workout routine: Saif is very focused and regular and there are no compromises made when it comes to his workouts. Three to four days per week, he concentrates on cardio, targeting one muscle per day: chest and biceps, shoulders and biceps, legs. He makes sure he exercises where ever he is shooting. 
Diet: His diet is a high protein, low carb and low fat diet — fresh chicken breasts, Protein shakes.

Shahid Kapoor
Abbas Ali — Personal Trainer & Nutritionist, Gold's Gym
Body type: Shahid is also an Ecto/Meso- Ecto (Skinny but Muscular). He has a high metabolic rate which means he can eat without worrying about putting on weight. If he doesn't work out for more than 10 days his body tends to loose weight.
Workout routine: Shahid's body responds well on high intensity training tech which involves lots of Super Sets, Tri Sets, Giants Sets and at times Volume Training.
Diet: It's a high protein, high fibre, moderate carbs and a low fat diet, which was difficult with Shahid since he is a vegetarian and being a vegetarian there is no source of first class protein except for Whey protein, the other sources of first class protein are eggs, fish, chicken and other non-vegetarian foods. Planning his diet was a big challenge.
Abbas says, "Shahid and Koena are my favourite clients as they believe in fitness as a lifestyle, this helps them to look more presentable as well as fit on screen and in the eyes of the public."

John Abraham
Aleem Ahmed — Trainer with Gold's Gym trains John
Body Type: John has an athletic body
Workout routine: He concentrates on different parts of his body depending on the requirements for his film sequences. He alternates between cardio and weight training. But concentrates more on his abs. John is very regular and strives to maintain his body. Even if he's shooting for 24 hours the gym will be on his mind. If he's shooting in and around Bandra then he drops in to the gym for a workout. Sometimes he feels a little tired but still completes his routine without fail. "Body building is a time consuming process and one has to work regularly on it," says Aleem.
Diet: He avoids carbohydrates completely and sticks to a low fat diet

Bipasha Basu
Paul Britto — Trainer with Gold's Gym trains Bipasha
Body Type: She's got a perfectly curved and toned body and her body structure is very proportionate.
Workout routine: She works out 4-5 days a week and is very serious about her workouts. She's also very fitness conscious. She never sticks to one routine, its not just weight training, she goes for a combination of everything. Bipasha is very flexible and has good strength and stamina, which is important for a good workout. She follows a cardiovascular routine (treadmill, cycling), weight training; kick boxing, stretching, circuit training and sometimes yoga.
Diet: She eats small meals 7-8 times a day with small portions of each nutrient. 

Esha Deol
Satyajit Chaurasia — Trainer with Barbarian Gym; trained Esha to mould her body perfectly for Dhoom
Body type: Sporty and athletic
Workout routine: Esha trained hard for two months to achieve her look for the film. It involved cardio training and circuit training with two-minute walks and two-minute jog alternately and forty-five minutes on the treadmill. She works on her stomach five times a week.
Diet: Her diet consisted of seven to eight meals per day, only liquid and no carbohydrates after 8:30 pm. 

Priyanka Chopra
Dipika Mehta — Health Fitness and Yoga Expert, trained Priyanka for Don
Body type: Lean and strong
Workout Routine: Priyanka had to look feminine yet strong and active in the movie. She had to train outdoors in Europe where there were no gyms in the vicinity. Priyanka opted for outdoor biking for Cardio, lots of hip-hop dance work outs and pilates for her stomach followed with yoga.
Diet: Since she needed a slightly muscular look she stuck to a naturopathy diet with proteins. Priyanka is extremely dedicated and enjoys exercising, so she opted for a creative work out with Hip-hop dancing.
